I enthusiastically woke up at 6:30am to make bacon and eggs. The group didn’t share my enthusiasm so I cooked bacon very slowly, one strip at a time, for about 45 minutes until the smell (or maybe my nagging) finally coaxed everyone out of their sleeping bags. Everyone except Sasha.
Shade break 30 min into the hike. Coming to terms with that fact that climbing is kind of hard. Who knew.
Exhausted hiker or Nike model ?
Fast foward about 8 shade breaks and 2 miles. This is the top of Yosemite falls. The water dissapearing at the edge is falling off a 2400ft sheer rock face. Also let’s hear it for real lens flare.
The edge of that rock falls thousands of feet to the valley floor. This view was beyond incredible. Go to Yosemite, do this.
5:45pm, 6 hours after we started and 2 1/2 hours before sunset. A particularly important fact since we had forgotten flash lights. Time to roll out.

After the hike there was a minor accident. I left my backpack outside and as we pulled out of the parking lot we ran it over, crushing both my camera and a half full jar of peanut butter. I consider this to be a blessing since if we hadn’t run it over we would have driven off without all the film. RIP Mamiya.
